How to Add Assets to Your Account
At the end of the day, an asset is just something that generates revenue for your business. Assets are typically static and are physical. Assets can be anything from apartment units to physical equipment. Anything that you'd like to associate a work order to.
UpKeep is the central location for all your asset information. Upload additional resource files like manuals or schematics, view work orders completed on the asset, view updates from your team, and more.
Depending on the business type you chose during setup, Assets can have a different name. They can be called "Units", "Equipment", "Vehicles" or "Assets".
If you have a large amount of assets, you can also import your assets by creating a CSV file and then uploading it into UpKeep. Press the "Import" button in the top right hand corner of the assets page.
Detailed Import Instructions:
Step 1: Download the Sample CSV Template
Step 2: Open in Excel or Google Sheets
Step 3: Add each asset to a single row using the sample data in row 1 as a guide
Step 4: Once you’re done. Save the CSV.
Step 5: Go back into the Assets page inside the app and click “Import”
Step 6: Click “Upload Import” and select the file you just saved
